Excellent Protection, First Rate Service

I am in the process of moving my site from a WordPress installation to a hosted solution. This is a good time to reflect on the services that Wordfence has provided.
Wordpress now powers about 30% of the Internet, which makes it a very profitable target for hackers. Looking at the stats, there are hundreds of brute force and complex attacks on my site (and presumably every WordPress site) every day. Sites that do not monitor the threats do not even know that these things happen all the time, let alone that they have been hacked.
It would be folly to run a WordPress site without added security. It is a sad reflection on the nature of the Internet that a complex password alone no longer cuts it.
To guard against these attacks and keep my website safe, I used the premium version of Wordfence. Given that this tool monitors websites around the clock and is updated immediately as new threats emerge, I believe that the subscription fee is eminently attractive. I really appreciated the services – from login security to monitoring, alerts and most importantly blocking threats – and the way, in which they are delivered. Wordfence runs quietly in the background, updates itself and needs less monitoring than the average WordPress plugin. Most importantly, it does not require the user to become an expert.
Wordfence support is second to none. The support engineers never tire of answering questions and looking into potential problems. It is almost like having your own, dedicated security team holding your hand when bad things happen.
I wholeheartedly recommend Wordfence to anyone running a WordPress site.
