• I’m the editor of a printed community/parish magazine which is now going online as an information hub for ‘my’ parish and surrounding areas.

With the Time.ly calendar plugin and the posterboard extended view I have been able to put a respectable calendar onto the site which will – I hope – encourage visitors to regard it as a valuable resource for the community. I also hope that our few commercial advertisers will regard our modest fees as money well spent – perhaps even to the extent that the magazine no longer needs an annual grant from the parish precept.

I have done very little to tailor the single event view. It’s tidy as it is but I’m confident that – after a reasonable learning curve – I will be up to the challenge of making it even more suited to this community’s requirement. I would not expect to find any calendar plugin which meets the need perfectly out of the box. Time.ly’s All-in-One-Event-Calendar comes closer than I’d expect any to.

Added 21-Jan-18: I submitted a support request for some advice on setting up a stand-alone system for demo purposes. As it was several weeks before the system will be required I was in no hurry – and put the date in the request. Sunny responded on 21-Jan with a solution. This goes above and beyond for free support.
