• I use Yoast SEO for WordPress on all my clients’ websites. It goes a long way to helping them attain visibility with the search engines soon after a site is launched, and helps existing sites improve their ranking nicely. Though fewer of my clients use Local SEO, I strongly recommend it for any business which has a physical location. It makes a huge difference in the way readily visible information for the business is displayed in search engine result pages. As the plugin continues to mature, I’m sure little quirks like only counting the examples for transition words as opposed to the many transition words available (in the Readability section) and the way it closes sentences to calculate the sentence length (when there are quotes, the sentence isn’t closed when the period is within the end quote, only using the UK English style with the period outside the end quote) will be resolved. The developers work hard on both plugins to stay on top of the frequent changes in Google’s SEO requirements, translating them into the plugin in a way that makes it easy to adhere to best practices and implement new ones without having to read Google’s sometimes hard to understand—and harder to implement—announcements. Their support is also very good.
