example.com vs example.com/home permalink

Hi I am new to WordPress and I apologize if I am writing something wrong or inaccurately.
I am starting a website hosted on BlueHost and I have a problem with the Homepage.
I would like that https://www.example.com is my homepage, but I have no other choice than make a https://www.example.com/home as homepage.
If i do not do it there is no Homepage on the menu.
I tried to edit the permalink of the new homepage to make it simply https://www.example.com, in vein.
I appreciate any help. Many thanks

You can create a Custom link and add it to the Menu. For that you need to go to
Appearance > Menus
There you have options to add Pages, Posts, Custom Link and Categories to your Menu.Create a custom Link and add the url you want to direct your user to.
