Yup, those settings are just fine. Are those 1.8 MB PNG images, or JPGs?

If it is a PNG, that is not going to work unless you are on a dedicated server. On shared hosting, it will likely timeout, since a 1.8 MB PNG will probably take 5 minutes or more. You should download it, convert it to a JPG, and re-upload it. There is a plugin called Enable Media Replace that is pretty slick for this.

If it is just a 1.8 MB JPG, perhaps there is nothing to optimize? Newer versions of photoshop and some other editors have become much more efficient.

Hi they are JPG files. it is just 511 × 768 but 1,8 mb big. i dont understand why he cant optimize it. i have installed Enable Media Replace. how can i replace a picture?

If it is a JPG, I wouldn’t worry about the Enable Media Replace, that was only for re-uploading a PNG.

Please post a direct link to the image in question, so I can do some experimenting with it.

i find it out. there are many xmp infos. that make the file size so big.

when i delete the xmp infos the file will be 33 kb. thats good but the light effektc are not like the original.

yes, metadata can be a big culprit. removing it shouldn’t make the picture any worse though, unless the xmp is applying changes to the images, in which case there is probably a special export option you should use before publishing your photos in wordpress. Can’t help you much there though, sorry.
