ewww-image-optimizer not working in my blog

  • Hello –

    I have installed “ewww-image-optimizer” plugin today on https://www.myjeeva.com, hosted with godaddy.

    First I try to optimize individually from Media Library
    – Once I click “Optimize Now” I get blank or webpage not found
    URL look like: https://www.myjeeva.com/wp-admin/admin.php?action=ewww_image_optimizer_manual&attachment_ID=1457

    Then I tried Bulk Optimize, no luck.

    Do you have the W3TC plugin installed? It seems to create problems with newly installed plugins (or at least this one), and I’m not sure quite what the fix should be. Seems that if people wait a day or so, it starts working. Disabling w3tc doesn’t fix it all by itself, because w3tc doesn’t typically remove the .htaccess rules when you deactivate.

    Otherwise, everything else looks normal to me. You do need javascript for the bulk optimize, but that wouldn’t affect the manual ‘optimize now’ links, so I’m not seeing a consistent pattern here.

    Yes I have W3TC plugin installed. Also to be noted W3TC plugin will not be in effect when User logged-in (which is me admin). JavaScript is enabled in my browser.

    For now I will keep ‘ewww-image-optimizer’ disabled and wait for you response.

    It doesn’t seem to matter if you have the ‘don’t cache for logged-in users’ setting checked, it just takes time for stuff to work it’s way out. I’ve never been able to actually replicate the issue myself, so it would be interesting to know what version of w3tc you are using.

    W3TC Version is 0.9.2.8

    by the way, I have removed the CDN config before export, it has API keys etc. that’s why

    After some discussion with Jeeva, W3TC is going to be replaced by WP Super Cache. W3TC still has some odd issues with my plugin that I’ve been completely unable to replicate.

    Jeeva will post an update here after running WP Super Cache for a while.

    I have replaced the cache plugin with WP Super Cache and tested on local and deployed on host. Now blog working fine and ewww image optimizer too!
