EWWW Image optimiser – speed tip
-
I found out that disabling the EWWW image optimiser plugin speeds up the Force regeneration by a factor of 10.
I assume EWWW is optimising the generated sizes, but its not flagging them as having been optimised, so they still need to go through the optimisation process anyway.
If dealing with a lot of images. Disable EWWW, run force regenerate, then re-enable EWWW, that will save a lot of time.
