• I found out that disabling the EWWW image optimiser plugin speeds up the Force regeneration by a factor of 10.

    I assume EWWW is optimising the generated sizes, but its not flagging them as having been optimised, so they still need to go through the optimisation process anyway.

    If dealing with a lot of images. Disable EWWW, run force regenerate, then re-enable EWWW, that will save a lot of time.

    I disabled it while the plugin was running, as it has been almost 24 hours and my site was not even 40% done!

    Also, it ate up all of our EEEW credits!
