The problem you describe is usually caused by bad coding. The “validator” is a way to check the codes. It’s a tedious job to solve all errors, but you might learn a bit or two from it (and you solve several error the same time). The bottom line is that your theme contains bad coding and somehow that came out when you upgraded. Did you make changes in your theme (or you do post pasting from MS Word, that is also often a problem)?

I sometimes use MS word for some of the articles. I then copy from there and past it into wordpress editor.

Don’t do that! If you look at the code of such articles (use the “code” tab contrary to “visual” when editing a post), it will be full of spans and the like and they do not help the layout of the site.

[edit]. Hm, the source of the blog doesn’t look so bad and WP does have an built-in ‘paste from Word’ function, so the problem might not be so simple and still be a badly coded theme…
