Everything 404!
-
Thought I’d test this out.
-1gb VPS Ubuntu 14.04 LTS X64
-easyengine running nginx w/ caching via w3 (cleared cache then disabled)
-Betheme w/ child theme
-Clef, WordFence and Jetpack runningFirst change was the uploads folder to assets, and disabled access to uploads folder, nothing else.
Load front end in incognito mode and inspected code and everything was still showing /wp-content/uploads/… instead of /wp-content/assets/…
Next I changed the /wp-content/ folder to just /content/ and this is where everything broke. I could still see some elements in the inspector looking for /wp-content/uploads/…, /wp-content/plugins/… etc in many elements but now showing 404 in console. Additionally, in the HEAD section, the new url rewrites were showing but they also showed 404’s.
Starting to think maybe this plugin doesn’t work w/ nginx installs?
Update: pretty much anything to do with rewrites doesn’t work but still great for disbling emoji, pinkbacks etc.
Great idea but it needs to work before I can use it to hide the main stuff, wp-includes, wp-content, wp-admin etc. Thanks for the efforts.
