Everyday Nonsense Searches

  • Hello,

    Since activated Better search, one of our sites has been plagued with the following showing up in the popular searches every day. When we delete the index, they same searches reappear fairly soon.

    Any idea what is transpiring or how we can prevent it?

    This seems to be because someone is searching those terms on your site and not because of the index.

    Potentially you could ban this term Q82019309.com.com but it isn’t the complete fix unfortunately.

    You might need to look at logs to see what IPs are accessing your ?s= pages and then block these IPs directly as they clearly are spam.

    I’m still hunting for a good blocking system that will completely block such spam searches.

    Same, anyone know the Ip of this bastards? It’s hammering the search for weeks.

    It seems to be a common spam problem affecting a lot of sites. You’ll need to check your logs to figure out the IP and then block them.
