This is driving me mad, but I can say that it has always happened since I started my blog. Namely, every time the jetpack plugin has a new version available, the one on my blog breaks. I can never get an upgrade to work via my wordpress dashboard, but instead have to manually do it via FTP and manually remove the old and install the new.

This happens every time. It’s not great, is it? I can fix it, but it seems to me that there is some kind of issue somewhere. Could it be my hosting, my broadband router?

Let me know if blog details would be helpful.

    Thanks
    Rachel

  • I like the dashboard stats from Jetpack, but the second it acts up (it has many conflicts with themes and other plugins, so this is frequent) I just trash it. Use Google analytics. Use another social share plugin. It’s just too much hassle for what it provides.

@damiandodd If you ever run into conflicts with other themes and plugins, let us know! We’ll be more than happy to get this fixed in Jetpack or work with the plugin / theme authors to solve the issue.

We’ve had a few conflicts in the past when some themes or plugins would load extra CSS on every single page of the dashboard for example, thus overwriting and breaking the layout of plugin pages like Jetpack’s Stats page. This is usually an easy thing to fix, by making sure the theme or plugin only loads their CSS on their own dashboard page as explained here.
