Every evening – subscriber option goes down

  • This is the 3rd night in a row.

    Around 5pm EST, no one is able to subscribe to our blog! When you try to subscribe, you receive an “Oops.. Unexpected error occurred.”. This will continue through the night then begin working again at 9am EST.

    Why is this happening? Does anyone else experience this? Is there a timer on this that I am not aware of?

    Please help!

    Is there any caching plugin setup on your WordPress setup?

    I have been investigating different theories.

    I thought maybe my nightly backups of the site were affecting it: Confirmed that nightly backups happen from 2-215am EST. This does not explain why it goes down at 5pm EST.

    I checked site and plugin caching. I made sure that any caching is flushed. Issue still continued during the specified time.

    I reviewed all settings with Email subscribers. We are only using this plugin to collect subscribers and auto-send out new posts to subscribers so no strange configurations.

    I contacted Go-Daddy to verify that nothing is set on my site that fits into this time frame of 5pm EST – 9am EST.

    I had the same issue today! I tested on different platforms at 8am EST with the results of “Oops.. Unexpected error occurred.” Tried all platforms again at 9:10am EST – and was able to submit on all platforms.

    Due to the inconsistency of the plugin – I removed it from my individual blogs posts but left it on the main page for testing.

    I submitted a ticket for this directly on your website so we can work together to look deeper in this.

    Because of the inconsistencies of the plugin – I had to remove the sign-up from my site. I tried for a week – making sure no caching was on. Testing it with multiple browsers. Checking the times when it would go down. It was always around the same times.
