Events Widget ordering

Hi, I am trying to get my events in my upcoming events widget to display in order of when the event is happening rather than when the event was added.

Events list widget
“A widget that displays the next upcoming x events.”

… for me it doesn’t seem to work in this way, the dates are all over the place, its added the latest x events added rather than the next ‘x’ upcoming events

Is there a way to re-order?
