Start selling tickets to your Events

“Sell tickets, collect RSVPs, and manage attendees for free with Event Tickets.”

…this nag screen keeps coming back no matter how many times I click the X to dismiss it. Help? It’s SO annoying.

    Hi @ohliza

    Thank you for reaching out!

To disable this notice, please try adding the following snippet to functions.php or with a plugin like?Code Snippets.

    define( 'TEC_HIDE_UPSELL', true ); add_filter( 'tec_common_telemetry_show_optin_modal', '__return_false' );

    Best,

Sure, I could do that. But why do I have to? Just make it so it goes away forever when someone clicks the X like every other in-backend WordPress marketing screen does?

I made a custom filter for UBlock Origin to remove it.

    Hi @ohliza

I’m glad you brought this to our attention.

I’ve created an internal ticket [BTRIA-2302] to address this issue and I’ve included your specific use case in it to communicate it to our team.

We prioritize bugs by taking into consideration the number of users impacted as well as how the bug impacts one’s ability to run an event/sell tickets. I don’t have a specific timeline as to when this issue will be resolved, but trust that our team is aware. Our team communicates updates and bug fixes in our newsletter and via our changelog.

I’m happy to help if any other questions are coming up around this topic, otherwise I’ll go ahead and close this ticket.

Thanks again for reporting this issue and for using The Events Calendar! Have a great day.

+1 on the original complaint. It’s very unexpected to click the close button just to have the upsell show up again on the next page… over and over and over…

This is not resolved. I just updated to the latest version of TEC and TEC Pro and I’m still seeing this on every admin page.

+1 This is SO ANNOYING! I get it, cross selling is important. But so is not pissing off all of your paying customers. You know what’s crazy? If I actually needed Tickets on this website, I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE TICKETS ADD-ON!

The fact that you are making the assumption that your customers are so stupid to not even know if they need one of your add-ons is incredibly insulting. Tell whatever idiot middle manager in marketing who decided that forcing this to never go away that he/she/they are a moron.

You already have a nav item for Event Add-Ons. You could easily make the popup show up once and then respect our decision to close. This was a deliberate decision to force this down our throats and is the type of decision that makes people not want to use your product anymore.

    +7 annoying

I got here looking for a way to get rid of that annoying message. Please fix this.

    Hi @robbonj @markanielsen @darkhousedevelopment @bearsox @bookchiq

If you have The Events Calendar PRO installed, you can try a temporary workaround to fix the problem. Simply deactivate The Events Calendar PRO temporarily, close the notice, and then re-activate The Events Calendar PRO. This may help resolve the issue you are experiencing.

We agree that this is a horrible nag and we shouldn’t have to edit theme code to get rid of it. A click to close should be saved in the database that it was closed, and thats it.

It just reminds me that I should find another calendar plugin.
