Today our website Norwichastro.org.uk has run into an issue where the events ticketing system is no longer accessible to purchase tickets, it is ‘greyed out’.

I have checked that the tickets are still valid – expiry 21/09/2024 17:00. I have resynced Paypal link.

Not sure what to do to resolve issue?

    Thanks, Andrew

A colleague has also looked into this and found the following:-

    1. This is affecting all events.? (I tried booking tickets to Andrews talk next month and there is the same issue).
    2. It appears to be browser based.? I tried it on Safari and had no problems :? it takes you through to payments and doesn’t hang.? On the other hand Chrome hangs on both desktop and mobile.? ?I just tried it on DuckDuckGo and this errors in the same way as Chrome.? ?Also, it is not working on Microsoft Edge.

Since we know this was working until a few days ago, and this is still working on Safari, and as far as I can see we did not make any updates to trigger this I suspect this is a knock on from something outside our control?

    Hi @acs53 ,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I just tried doing a purchase of your test ticket/event on your site using a Google Chrome browser, and this seems to be working fine for me (see https://go.screenpal.com/watch/cZQiIhVRg9F). In that regard, I suspect the issue is being caused by caching, so I recommend purging the cache on your site to see if that alleviates the situation.

I also recommend going through our Caching Basics knowledgebase article for information on the possibility of excluding the plugin’s resource files (Javascript & CSS) if your caching solution allows you to.

    Hi @acs53

I hope everything is going smoothly for you. I just wanted to touch base and inquire if you had the opportunity to review the response above as it has been some time since we last heard from you.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Darian,

I found an event/ticketing update waiting to be installed, and after installatoin everything worked normally.

No idea why it hung until the update was installed, but everything working fine now.

    Thanks,

We’re glad to hear the issue has been resolved after the update, @acs53 ! The issue could happen, as many of The Events Calendar/Event Tickets plugins have shared code libraries. So, it is quite important for all plugins to be kept up-to-date.

Anyway, I’d be closing this thread as resolved, but please do not hesitate to bump a new thread on our way if you have further questions/concerns. This is for us to track down topics/issues efficiently and for us to follow the WordPress Forum Guidelines.

If you have some time to review, that would be amazing!
