Okay, so we select the option “Include events in main blog loop” which makes sense if most of what the organization does is events. However, events are appearing in reverse order, with the latest event at the top and the earliest event perhaps not even on the page.

Is there any way to ensure that events in a connected series appear in the correct order by date, in other words, in reverse to how the posts appear?

  • It’s a difficult thing to orchestrate in a way that everyone will be comfortable with: if blog posts were essentially news stories or other time-ordred updates, for instance, that would basically mean the further down the list of posts a user reads the further back in time they would travel with one type of post (regular WP posts) but the further forward in time they would travel with another (event posts).

We’re definitely open to ideas on this, though, if you wish to make a feature request: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas

Thanks for your reply. Yes, it’s a bit of a conundrum. The organization would probably like to put their whole year into the calendar at one time, however with “Include events in main blog loop” that would mean Spring events would show as the first event in the blog.

I have suggested the client put conceptual description of each event as blog posts and let the calendar in the widget handle the rest.

    Love the plugin BTW.

That sounds like a neat workaround if the client is happy to go for it – and please do feel free to use the above linked Feature Request page for this and anything else you think may benefit The Events Calendar.

    Cheers!
