I’ve just noticed that the plugin ignores the “Number of events to show per page” setting; regardless of that value (1, 5, 100) the ‘list view’ shows the first 5 events – and the behaves as explained in posting above.

    Hi @bennienaude,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Please test for conflicts with other plugins or theme, follow the steps in this guide: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/ and let us know about your findings.

My guess is the theme or a plugin is overriding this via pre_get_posts action or something similar.

    Best,

Hi Nico, that is completely impractical (loads of plugins, everything works and has worked for years) – and I know that you have to give me that answer.

It also doesn’t make sense to me.

    E.g. I have 14 events.
Page 1 shows 5 of them (instead of 10 – as per setting).
Click ‘next events’ – see 11 – 14 (as if it had displayed 10 on the first page)
Click ‘previous events’ and now I see the first 10.

SO it’s not that your plugin NEVER shows the first 10 events, it just doesn’t show it first time around.

Are there any debug files I can investigate?

    Thanks

Sadly it is a really nice event calendar but the problem of not showing all the events means changing to a calendar that works.Tried above solutions but no joy. Any suggestions for another events calendar that looks good and works.
    ?

    Hey @bennienaude,

I can relate to your emotional response to the concept of deactivating plugins and such on your site, but it is not just some default answer we “have to give you”.

I’m not being snarky here, I just want you to know why we recommend this: Nico is absolutely right to recommend those steps, because the “Events per page” option does work and we cannot recreate your problem. So, the fact that there are “loads of plugins” on your site actually makes it more likely that one of them is forcefully preventing our posts_per_page query var from taking hold.

And unfortunately, only those troubleshooting steps will reveal – or rule out –?such a conflict.

I get why that’s frustrating, and am genuinely sorry for the frustration. But please understand that a plugin conflict is very likely; they’re very common in general; and The Events Calendar itself is most likely not broken here based on what has been reported and what we know about the plugin ourselves.

If the requirement of these steps is an impasse here, I’m sorry, there are just not many other moves on the chess board for trying to troubleshoot your problem ??

    Sincerely,
    George

    Hey @rsatoday,

When you mention having tried the things listed here, did you run through all of the troubleshooting steps that Nico suggested here? → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/
