I’m having this strange behaviour tracking woocommerce events (it is all configured as in other website i run):
if i test tag managare events are correctly fired (i can see them in tag assistant and also in debug mode of my google analytics)
but once im in production events are not fired (so i cant see them in analytycs), im pretty sure people are navigating the sites, but it only fires “page view” even when watching products pages or cart), i cant really track down where the error or why the events are not showing up
url is: https://ginofruttabistrot.it/ (i did not made the site, i can only access tag manager configuration)

the only thing i can think of, is the fact that somehow the site prevent the correct execution of event tracking only the basic of GA4

    any suggestion?

I probably found a cache plugin (wp fastest cache) installed that is probably the culprit of this behaviour

Are you using the v.12 or v.13 version of plugin Google Tag Manager for WordPress?

I have noticed the same issue as well on the website I manage. I can track anything (from the Product View to the Cart steps and Checkout final steps) except the orderCompleted step! It was perfectly working until the 24th of May.

Is there any alteration in this datalayer gtm4wp.orderCompletedEEC within the latest version of plugin Google Tag Manager (v.13) ? It seems like it doesn’t trigger anymore, therefore no ecommerce data is sent to Google Analytics.

    Thank you so much,
    Sabina

    hello @sabinacenac
as in my previous reply, it was a cache plugin that blocked the correct behaviour (on my side it was working because i was logged as admin, therefore skipping the cache).

    Hi Sabina,

As far as I can see tracking of the order completed event is missing on sites where there is a cookie consent solution active (which is good!) and it is configured to use a trigger group to fire tracking. This would allow you to fire tracking only IF the ecommerce event happened AND the proper consent was given.

Don’t you use the same setup?
