No events are displaying. A regular embed of the calendar works. Using this plugin, no events display. I have checked the restriction setting in Google Cloud Console. I have checked that the calendar is public. I have the correct calendar ID. There is no odd formatting or any indication of a problem… the calendar looks great, it just contains no events. This is a membership site, so you have to log in. Could that be causing problems? Like I said, the regular embed works fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Howdy! Typically this is associated with the finicky API settings. The native embed uses a different protocol to access the calendar than this plugin, so I’d check the API first.

Some folks have had luck restricting the API key to Calendar:

Please let us know if this works!

Yes, I already had checked that, along with all the other settings mentioned in my first message. Any other ideas?

Hmmm. I’d like to dig deeper – can you send me an email at lbell270 at the gmails?

Sadly our website was hacked right after this, and we are still working to fully restore. You can dismiss this thread and I’ll revisit at a later date. But thank you for your quick response!

I’m having this same issue. Toggling Restrict Key doesn’t seem to affect it. I can get it to work if I remove website restrictions. I’ve tried the exact page, and wildcard versions of the domain…and the events don’t appear.

Figured it out after looking at Googles API docs…
For website restriction, you need to add 2 URLs. According to Google:
You must set two URLs in the?allowedReferers?list.

    For example:

    1. URL for the domain, without a subdomain, and with a wildcard for the path. For example:
      example.com/*
    2. A second URL that includes a wildcard for the subdomain and a wildcard for the path. For example:
      *.example.com/*

Excellent sleuthing @ihuman! We’ll make a note in the sticky.

Keeping this thread open since we aren’t sure that will solve @zanderlise ‘s problem.

Closing due to lack of information. Hope you got it sorted @zanderlise!

Yes, thank you! This had to be set on the back burner but we’ll return to it in the future.
