Events Manager: Post Date is not Published Date

We have been running v5.6.1 within the quanticalabs gymbase theme successfully. However we have noticed that when you publish an event, the post date is not the date specified, e.g. a post made today 1 DEC shows up as the 23 DEC :-S.
Is this an unwanted feature.

Standard posts are fine and reflect the date accurately. The issue is only with Event manager.
Any help would be most welcome ??
