    Hello!

I am using Events Manager in combination with WPML. I have everything working perfectly exactly how I would like it with the exception of the Events Manger Categories.

Is there a way to translate the EM Categories with WPML like you can with the post categories.

Thanks in advance and great work with this amazing plugin!

    Cheers,

    Michael

  • Hi, at the moment we can only recommend to try the snippet posted here on WPMLs site, whilst we work on making an add-on with WPML that’ll help with this sort of thing.

I have added the snippet and that is what allowed me to get as far as I currently am…

I came up with this workaround to the see the proper events in the proper languages:

[events_list category=”1,2,3,4,5″] on the English side
[events_list category=”6,7,8,9,10″] on the Greman side

Now the issue is when I click a category on the German side (i.e. myurl.de), it automatically takes me back to the English side of my site (i.e.myurl.com).

And I also noticed is does the same when I click on the “all events” link in the events list widget AND when I click on a calendar day with an event on it in the calendar widget.

Have you any suggestions for these issues?

    Cheers and thanks.

I’d have to look into this when working on the WPML/EM plugin, Im not sure how wpml deals with translated taxonomies.

    Sounds great! Thanks.

If it is of any help or use to you or anyone is a similar situation, I came up with some temporary solutions:

By not setting a specific page for the events page in the EM Settings, the calendar will direct to the proper language page. However, this does not resolve the “all events” link in the Events List Plugin. My workaround for this was to disable the all events link in the widget and add a link with html in the a multilingual text widget. Then with string translation from WPML, I was able to change the url and the name of the button.

My temporary solution for the categories was to disabled all category links so you can see the categories but not click them to see all events in that category.

    Cheers!
