• Using WordPress 3.1.3 and trying to install Events Manager 4.x

From the Widget, when an event is selected, the following message appears

Fatal error: ob_start() [ref.outcontrol]: Cannot use output buffering in output buffering display handlers in /home/thecryst/public_html/wp-content/plugins/events-manager/em-events.php on line 37

I have removed all instances of EM from the MySql database as well as removing them from the wp_options and then reinstalled the plugin.

    Help!

reloaded EM and the message still appears.

  • we’re releasing a fix later today, see if that helps

however, is it possible that your php doesn’t allow output buffering? ob_start is a normal php function

Thanks, I will be anxious to try the fix. Host Gator has also looked into this for me and they have other’s with the same issue and it’s not their configuration that is causing the problem.

is this others with the same issue on EM or with wordpress in general? because these are two different things.

as far as I’m aware there’s nothing wrong with using relative paths.

if more people have this issue I’d certainly have a look, but again after such a long time using the same method this is the first issue of this nature

if host gator is willing to explain further as to why this is bad practice on my part I’d happily change it.
