We are using the events list widget in the footer of our website. It displays as a numbered list but with the following errors:

    1. First calendar item in the list does not display the number next to the event title.
    2. Nothing displays after the number on each line and there is a blank line between the number and the event title.

    For example:

    Upcoming Events

    Event Title
    November 10 – November 11
    2.
    Event Title
    November 25 – November 27
    3.
    Event Title
    January 6, 2015 – January 9, 2015

    Hi terp753,

Thanks for your post. I’m sorry you’re having trouble. Have you tried deactivating other plugins to look for a conflict, or switching to a default theme like Twenty Twelve? If you need help, please read this guide to testing for conflicts.

If you can isolate this as an issue that’s inherent to The Events Calendar, we’d be happy to look into it further. Unfortunately, we can’t help troubleshoot conflicts here on the free forum. If you do find a conflict, you can try getting in touch with the developer of the theme or plugin and see if they can shed some light on the issue.

We also have some resources that might be helpful for you in troubleshooting a conflict:

? Themer’s Guide – provides an overview of how to customize the plugin’s frontend appearance.
? Tutorials – useful tips and tricks for changing how the plugin looks and behaves.
? Technical Docs – provides an overview of the classes and functions in each plugin

Good luck, and thanks for using The Events Calendar!

Still not working. I sent a question to pre-sales support to see if upgrading would fix this. The reply was to provide the url so that Brian could take a quick look but the discussion was closed before I could do so. Who do I send the url to via pm?

    Hi Leah,

Still hoping for a resolution to this…

Try adding the following CSS to {your-theme}/tribe-events/tribe-events.css

    .widget-area .widget li { list-style: none; }

    Hi Andy,

    no, it don′t work.
I think the problem is this line:
    <div class="duration">

    Thanks,
    Chris

Chris, I think the problem is that your theme’s stylesheet is loading later in the cycle and over-riding the changes you have in tribe-events.css

Could you try installing The Events Calendar User CSS. It’s a plugin I wrote to correct the load order for CSS files.

Let me know if that works.

Tried adding the css. Didn’t work. Downloaded plugin but have to purchase Pro version first and I really do not need functionality of pro version.

Pro version is not required for anything we’ve been discussing.

Thanks Andy but the following message is displaying on my site:

To begin using The Events Calendar User CSS, please install the latest version of The Events Calendar PRO.

I’ll check it out in the next few days as I’m on call today, but there’s no requirement for Pro. It may be that TEC loaded in the correct order previously. But Pro is not required.

    Stay tuned.

I just pushed a new version of the plugin. Let me know if that solves this issue.

Thank you Andy. That solved the need to upgrade to Pro but the formatting is still off. I’ve given up and removed the Event Calendar widget from the home page.

Don’t give up, now that we can more easily work with the CSS it will be easier to fix it.

The problem now, however, that all the points of the widgets list items are missing!

There has to be another solution is to remove the blank line…
