• We are using WordPress 3.5.1 for our church’s web site. Since we want to try out event plugins, I recently downloaded.installed and activated Version 2.1.2 of Event Organiser. Before the download of Event Organiser, another of the site’s administrators previously entered a couple of events and those events are showing up on a page we created, the title of which is Events Schedule. I have since entered four events with Event Organiser. However, when I view these events, a page appears saying I published them, but does not specify a page where they are published. I would like to publish the events I’ve entered to the Events Schedule page but am not sure how to go about doing this and the administrator who entered the original events is currently out of town. Also, I’m not able to see a way to enter an end date/time for a given event in Event Organiser. Is this possible?

The web site URL is https://saint-albans.org and the theme we are using is located at https://vandelaydesign.com/blog/wp-themes/zion-church/. I’d welcome any advice in resolving these issues. Thanks for your help!

    Hi SquarePeg61

Your ‘events schedule’ page it seems is set up by your theme to display the theme’s built-in ‘event feature’. Event Organiser, or any other event plug-in, won’t be able to integrate with that out of the box.

You can use the [eo_events] shortcode to display events, or see the Permalinks settings tab (in Settings > Event Organiser ) for the url to your ‘events page’ (called ‘archive’). This may show only future events, or past ones too, depending on the settings on the General tab.

Also, I’m not able to see a way to enter an end date/time for a given event in Event Organiser

Absolutely! Event Oraniser should add an ‘Events’ tab to your dashboard menu and from there you can select New Event. The plug-in adds a metabox which allows you to select dates, schedule (for recurring events) and venue. (See the screenshots)

…however, since your theme provides an events feature it may will be that there is a conflict (I’ll have look later). If that’s the case then I’m afraid you probably won’t be able to use this plug-in with your theme (I’ll see if I can contact the developer though).

    All the best,

Just to add, documentation for short-codes is available here:

Thanks, Stephen! You’ve confirmed what I thought regarding integration with the theme’s built-in events feature and event plug-ins.
