Eventbrite Venue theme crashes during installation

I’m having the same problem as the previous user submission, above, except that here it is January 26, 2016, and the problem still hasn’t been fixed. When installing the Eventbrite Venue theme (also known as Multi Event), the following error appears – Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home/saengerfest1/public_html/wp-content/themes/eventbrite-venue/inc/eventbrite.php on line 385. I am running WordPress 4.4.1, hosted by Godaddy. If I use another theme such as Eventbrite Event, the install works ok. Very frustrating, actually, because the Eventbrite Venue theme looks like a great theme. Disabling plugins doesn’t help. If anybody knows how to fix this, please let me know. Thank you.
