I’m wanting to do a monthly RSS Feed driven email of my events.

When I look at the Feed, it looks like it’s presenting the time as if it’s in UTC, but it’s using the local time zone data for the time.

https://www.vithefiddler.com/calendar/feed/

On the next upcoming event, you can see this field:

The date and time are actually in Mountain Time, but it’s displayed as +0000, which denotes that it’s UTC, Not MST, which is what is noted in the plugin settings.

This is clearly a bug. Thank you for getting it fixed quickly.

Thanks,
Vi

UPDATE: I have verified that it isn’t a problem with my theme by replicating my site to a staging area and switching to 2016. I have also verified that it isn’t related to any of the other plugins I’m using by disabling all of the plugins except for the events calendar. Also, when I look at the posts in the Admin panel and compare pub dates on them with the pub dates in the feed, they show MST (UTC-7) time in the admin panel, but GMT in the feed (and times are adjusted accordingly.) WordPress is set to use UTC-7 in its General settings. I even tried to set wordpress to UTC, and it only changed the way times appear in the admin panel, the dates in the feed and the wordpress frontend are still out of sync with each other.

I can’t think of anything else that would cause the RSS and front end to be inconsistent with each other beyond a software bug in this plugin.

Hi Vi,

Thanks for reaching out, I’d love to help you out with this issue!

Have you confirmed that this issue is relegated to The Events Calendar RSS feed, and not consistent throughout the WP software?

I’d also be interested to see a copy of the system info for the test site you created, just to root out all non-bug possibilities before creating an internal bug report.

Best,

Shelby ??

Hi Shelby, It’s not resolved. It’s still broken, and I have verified that it is broken even when I am running wordpress with the 2016 theme, and no plugins enabled other than the Events Calendar.

I hope you get this fixed. It’s also been reported by me and another user on the forum on the events calendar website, and was met with the same response.

This is definitely a bug and it definitely still exists.

Thanks,
Vi

Side note, The discrepancy only shows in The Events Calendar feed, not in the other WP Feeds.

I hope you guys can get this fixed.

Do you want me to open another thread and just repeat everything that has been said here?

Thanks,
Vi
