I’ve just installed the plugin but before doing so, I already had a custom post type on my site called ‘Events’ (slug: events). I would expect the plugin to detect this on install and either error or ask me to choose a new post type name for Event Tickets but it didn’t do that. I now seem to have a partial install with a Tickets section in my admin menu, and the pre-existing Events section, but no section for Event Tickets events.

In the documentation they provide a code snippet for changing the Event Tickets post type, but that only seems to apply to the scenario where you want the ‘event’ post type removed completely. I don’t want that. I need to keep my existing post type and have an additional post type for Event Tickets. How would I do that?

  • Hey @itsviney!

Sorry to hear about the conflict you are experiencing.

You might need to install The Events Calendar to get our events section in the dashboard. Our Tickets plugin does not come with events out of the box.

Our custom post types are all prepended. We don’t have a post type, “events”. For example, our ticket’s related post types are things like tec_tc_ticket, tec_tc_attendee, tec_tc_order, etc. Our post type for our events events is tribe_events.

If you are running into a conflict with the /events slug, you can change our main slugs at Events > Settings > General in the dashboard.

    Hope this helps!

    Peace,
    John
