Event category shortcode

I am using the Event Calendar with the shortcodes to display a teaser of events on my homepage. Like:
[ecs-list-events limit='3' excerpt='true' thumb='true' thumbwidth='150' thumbheight='150' eventdetails='false']

Now I want to add the event category to this teaser, how can this be accomplished?
