  • Hey! I got the same issue and my wordpress website is in french too! Let me know if you found the solution to add a space between “for” and the month!! I also speak french (better than english) if you want to answer me in french!
    Thanks
    Rick

Exactly the same issue for me…. and still looking for a solution!
    So, thanks for your help…

I fixed it in the French .po and .mo files. If someone would like them I can email them (or transmit them in whatever might be the best way.) I used poEdit to make the modifications, and then re-generated the .po and .mo files. There are a couple of other things I’d like to change as well, but won’t get around to that for a few days.

    Hi bowoolley!

I’m very interested in these French files! Thanks for sending them, with the instruction for the installation (i guess it’s very complicate, like upload the files), but who knows…

    thanks again!

I’ve put the French .po and .mo files into a Dropbox folder, here:

    https://www.dropbox.com/sh/l4fetngq6ygflj7/Hg5TgpDfp1

The only change I’ve made is to add the space after “Evénements pour “. Put them into: wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/lang.

If you want to make more changes yourself it’s pretty easy; download Poedit (https://www.poedit.net/download.php) Open the .po file using Poedit, choose “update from POT file” (under “Catalogue”) and select the plugin’s POT file, translate or modify whatever you want. Then “save as” .po, and then “save as” .mo. Put the new .po and .mo files back into the “lang” folder.

It’s not hard, and it gives one a great feeling of power to have some control over the language on a site! ??

    Hi Bowoolley!

I can’t believe it was that simple!!!

I thought it was some kind of php error somewhere, somehow…

I’ve already played with .po and .mo files in the past and I love that you’ve simply fixed the issue this way.

Thank you very much for posting them in your Dropbox, you rock!

Thanks Bowoolley and our apologies to everyone here who’s been affected … we’re aware of this and it is on the radar to be fixed in one of our forthcoming maintenance releases.

    Kudos again to bowoolley ??

My pleasure. Happy to be able to help, for once; I’ve certainly had my fair share of good advice here!

    Great to hear!

    Hi,
Could you help me to fix the same issue in Italian?
Actually I don’t know how to find/edit po files, so if possible I would need more detailed instructions…
    many many thanks in advance!!!

    Ciao Alessandra,

    Here’s how you fix it:

1-download the Italian .po and .mo files here (I’ve fixed them for you): https://www.dropbox.com/sh/wlo20zmypg071ze/BDrdGiHN3T

2-Use an FTP application such as “Cyberduck”(https://cyberduck.en.softonic.com/mac) or “Filezilla” (https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?show_all=1)

3-log in to where your website files are hosted then locate the following folders:
    wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/lang

4-simply upload the Italian files to this last folder, the one named “lang”, it will probably ask you if you want to replace them, you need to say “yes”

5-refresh your folders/files list, go to your website, refresh the page et voila!

You should be able to see the change.

Should you need to edit more strings (words) into Italian, you can follow Bowoolley’s great advice above.

Please let me know if it works and if you need more help.

    Thank you,

    Aurelien

    Tiens un Froggy ??

Hi Malekovitch, unfortunately we can’t help with customizations like I think you are describing above, but we can definitely wait and see if another member of the community can assist ??

    Hi Malekovitch,

I understand you need a page for “past dates”.

What’s your goal exactly? On this calendar, like any calendar online, you can simply click on the date on the top right corner and go back in time to check past events.

As all the info is part of the calendar, past, present and future events will be available within the calendar.
Even in terms of user experience, I don’t think I would create a completely different page just for past events, this might confuse your visitors.

Please let me know if I misunderstood.

    Thank you,

    Aurelien
