I am using Version 6.0.5.1 of Events Calendar Pro and 6.0.6.2 of Events Calendar with WP 6.1.1 as well as Event Tickets Plus or Pro or whatever you call it and Virtual Events (I’m always running the latest of these).

During the last couple of weeks the Events List block (or should I call it the legacy widget? …also why is it a legacy widget? is there going to be an update? confusing) has stopped working with categories (or taxonomies? on my site they are called event categories, but on the widget/block they are listed as taxonomies) and we get a list of all events instead. Not good. For example, if you go here …?https://npsnj.org/chapters/jersey-shore/ … You see events for everywhere, not just the Jersey Shore event category, which is what is selected in the filter. Please help, this is a major problem for our site.

Also, often when I edit that block, a second block is saved and I have to go in and delete it. I don’t understand why. It’s **only** this “legacy widget” events list block that causes me constant headaches. I’m hoping it’s updated soon.

I identified the problem with the event categories (or taxonomies) not filtering in events list, as detailed in my original post. I was using this snippet, from the Events Calendar Pro website and it is faulty.

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/hide-events-of-a-category-on-the-calendar/

I had private events that I didn’t want to show on the main page. So I used that snippet to do that. Unfortunately, your page doesn’t state that the snippet also disables the ability to filter by category. Not good at all! Is there a way to hide private events without disabling the ability to filter by category (or taxonomy, whatever you decided to call it)?

Also waiting for a resolution on the duplicate events list widget.

Well, that’s terrible news. I was hoping this would be answered here. I previously wrote the help desk and was told to go to the forum.

We have a non-profit license, which gives us no support. But it does give us the ability to bounce back forth between this forum and the tickets.
