• Hi there,

I recently installed the Events Calendar plugin v.3.1.4 by Alex Tingle and my client really liked it except for the fact that it causes every post to be assigned to the Uncategorized category, and for that category’s check box to be grayed out so that it can’t be deselected.

    Too bad.

Has anyone found a fix for this?

    Thanks

  • It is the default “category”, but you can create other categories to post it to. Most people like the general events so that they can see all events together in addition to pages that show that same event in its own category. I think you can hide the events categaory link.

Thanks but you don’t seem to understand what I’m trying to say. Regardless of which category you assign the post to it ALSO puts it in the uncategorized category and you can’t uncheck it. I guess a way of living with the problem is to rename Uncategorized to Events and then only assign those posts to that category (because assigning posts to more than one category is bad for SEO, as we all know).

I’ve decided not to use the plugin, but thanks.

Thanks for this post. I just had to do the same thing. I didn’t even realize this plugin was active on my site until I upgraded WordPress.
