After upgrading my events page is empty. It doesn’t load any events, the space where the events calendar was is just completely blank. Same when I try to load the individual event pages.

For now I have switched back to legacy version via tickbox on Settings->Display which will do for now although the warning that support is being dropped for this a few days ago is somewhat worrying.

I use Smartmag theme if that helps you troubleshoot.

  • Paul, I am having the exact same issue with our Rosie template. I have been in lengthy discussion with ECP support on this and so far they have not been able to help. I’m also trying to get help from the makers of Rosie to see if they can do anything. If they do not find a solution, we’ll be forced to cancel ECP and find something else. ??

    Hi there,

I wanted to let you both know that this is actually a known Bug, and we are working on a fix for this as we speak. For some users, the upgrade to V2 has caused the Calendar to appear blank, so for right now you can keep using the Legacy views. I have added this thread to our internal bug ticket, and once the fix is released we will make sure to post a reply here!

I am super sorry about any inconvenience that this has caused, but we should have a fix released for this very soon!

No apology necessary, your foresight in adding the legacy version tickbox has made this a non-issue. Good to hear you are aware and working on a fix, thank you for letting us know

    Hi @mevukpaul

We just wanted to let you know that a fix has been released for this issue!

You can read about the release details here: https://theeventscalendar.com/release-notes/the-events-calendar/the-events-calendar-5-8-2/

Please try updating and let us know if you are experiencing any further issues. As always, we recommend running updates on your staging site before doing so on your live site, just to be on the safe side.

Thanks again for your patience while we worked on getting this fixed!

Hey there, thanks for responding. I have updated the plugin. It works unless I tick the tickbox labelled ‘Use updated calendar designs’, at which point it disappears again. I am fine with that for now and can see you have changed the default and re-worded the option to use the new views. Hopefully in the future I will be able to use the new views too.

    Hi Paul,

I am sorry that the update did not remedy this problem for you. It’s possible that you may still have some sort of conflict with another plugin or possibly our theme, so please go ahead and test for conflicts: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/testing-for-conflicts/ You can either use the Health Check plugin mentioned in that guide, or you can set up a staging environment and copy your site to it to test.

This should help determine where the issue might lie, please let me know!

Please feel free to open a new thread if any other questions come up and we’d be happy to help.

    Best regards,
