Event Calendar 3.0 Feature Request

I love E.C.3.0. One functionality that would make it even cooler would be to specify how much time (days/ hours/ etc.) before the event that it showed up on the home page.

I have events in my calendar that are months off, but it would be cool if 1 week before the event, it showed up on my front page to promote it.

Even cooler would being able to specify the amount of time per event, rather than a global setting.
