  • Yes I’m having the same problem too. There’s no add button on the Event Areas metabox, so I can’t add any tickets.

    Can anyone suggest a solution?

    Thanks,
    Michael

Hey guys. Can I get some more information on this from you, since I cannot seem to reproduce this in our environments.

1.) do you have javascript enabled on your browser? (some browsers allow you to turn this off)

2.) are you getting any javascript errors?

3.) what happens when you deactivate all your plugins except OpenTickets and WooCommerce? do you still experience the problem?

4.) can you describe or provide a screenshot of what the ‘Event Areas’ metabox is showing?

Thanks guys. This information should help me track down the problem, or at least help me provide some insight to what the problem is.

@johnnydo & @mickyholmes (sorry forgot to at you so that you get notifications)

    Hi Loushou,
thanks for getting back so quick. Sorry I’m working to a deadline so I had to remove the OpenTickets plugin and went with The Events Calendar: WooCommerce Tickets plugin instead.

    – yep javascript enabled
    – no javascript errors
    – Events Areas metabox: Grey Box with ‘events areas’. When I click little down arrow nothing happened / no options appeared. Also there was no button to add anything.

sorry I can’t be of more help, I’ve removed the plug in.

    Good luck sorting it out,
    Michael

i will try turning off plug ins next

    Update info –

I created a fresh install of WordPress 4.0,
    Installed Woocommerce and activated.
    Installed OpenTickets and activated.

Nothing else was installed or edited

Still same issue, unable to add event areas.

Has anyone else tried a fresh install with success ?

    Update info 2 –

Went and did a fresh install on a free web hosting account I had and heaven forbid, it worked fine!

I am at a loss as to why a free web host with less available resources would work when it fails on my paid host?

Anyway I sure you guys will work on it and I will just have to wait and see ??

    Hey guys,

We can definitely solve the problem. Of that I have no question. The problem is, we cannot seem to reproduce this problem. @monnas tip about changing environment may help us track it down though, because it is conceivable that there is a server problem going on here, like perhaps a missing package or php extension. We will do some more digging.

    Loushou

Great, Yep I think it is server configuration related and has to to with that ajax thing (sorry not very tech orientated) and the loading message.

On the free host where it works, I can see a grey “loading” message over the Events Area with the little circle thing spinning.

On the other host, where it does not work I do not see this loading message.

Hope that helps a bit ??

@monnas & @johnnydo & @mickyholmes – Thanks for all your help reporting this issue. We am trying to create a situation where this problem can be reproduced on one of our environments, so we can create a fix for it. A piece of information that may help is the PHP version that is currently running in your environments. If you have the ability to determine what this is, that could help us narrow the problem for you and future users of the plugin.

    Thanks again for your help,

@monnas & @johnnydo & @mickyholmes – Thanks to @bradleysp, we were able to find an environment where we could reproduce this problem and do some basic troubleshooting. We have created a patch that seems to resolve the problem, version 1.6.7. Let us know how if that resolves it for you too.

    Loushou

Bang ! 1.6.7 does the trick!
    All good now….
    Great support by the way
