• In the ever-evolving landscape of WordPress themes, the key determinant of selection often hinges on a balance of aesthetics, functionality, and affordability. In this vein, I present my candid appraisal of ‘Spectra One’ by Brainstorm Force in juxtaposition with the ‘Twenty Twenty-Three’ theme by www.remarpro.com.

While Spectra One provides a range of features and a distinct visual appeal, its key detractor lies in the significant portion of its features being hidden (or soon to be hidden) behind a paywall. This, in my perspective, tends to undermine its overall utility, given the panoply of alternate free options in the market.

A striking comparison emerges when one evaluates Spectra One against the Twenty Twenty-Three theme by www.remarpro.com. The latter outperforms Spectra One, not just marginally but by a considerable margin. What sets Twenty Twenty-Three apart is not solely its price tag (or lack thereof), but the value it provides in terms of its robust functionality, flexibility, and speed.

It’s worth mentioning that I’ve also had the opportunity to use the premium Astra Pro theme. While Astra Pro boasts an impressive repertoire of features, I found it, like Spectra One, falling short when compared to the robust and efficient Twenty Twenty-Three. Consequently, Astra Pro is no longer a part of my active toolkit.

In essence, if your objective is a fast, Full Site Editing (FSE) theme that packs a punch in terms of value and functionality, I would wholeheartedly recommend the Twenty Twenty-Three theme by www.remarpro.com. It stands as a testament to the maxim that, sometimes, the best things in life indeed come without a price tag.

UPDATE: I changed my mind it’s as good as any other FSE out there and better than many. Definitely will be a major player in FSE themes

  • Hello @asherz2ash

Thank you for taking the time to share your candid appraisal of the Spectra One theme by Brainstorm Force, as well as your comparison with the Twenty Twenty-Three theme by www.remarpro.com. We appreciate your feedback and would like to address some of the points you raised.

Firstly, we would like to clarify that Spectra One is currently in its beta phase and does not have any plans for a Pro version at this time. While we understand your concern about features potentially being hidden behind a paywall, it is important to note that Spectra One’s development is still ongoing, and any assumptions about its future pricing or feature availability would be premature.

Regarding your comparison with the Twenty Twenty-Three theme, we acknowledge the value you found in its robust functionality, flexibility, and speed. However, it is worth considering that Spectra One is still in its early stages of development, and comparing it to a matured theme like Twenty Twenty-Three may not provide a fair assessment of its potential. We are continually working to enhance Spectra One based on user feedback and ensure that it offers a competitive balance of aesthetics, functionality, and affordability.

Additionally, you mentioned your experience with the premium Astra Pro theme. While we understand your perspective, it’s important to note that Astra Pro is a well-established theme with its own strengths and user base. Each theme has its unique features and target audience, and the suitability of a theme often depends on individual preferences and specific project requirements.

We appreciate your recommendation of the Twenty Twenty-Three theme. At the same time, we encourage you to keep an eye on the development of Spectra One as we continue to refine and improve its offerings. We strive to create a theme that meets the diverse needs of our users and delivers a positive user experience.

Thank you again for your review, and we value your insights as we work towards creating themes that meet the evolving demands of WordPress users.

I think that the Spectra One theme is amazing in its added functionality. For me, this is one of its strengths yet it’s greatest weakness, at least from my perspective.

I feel that too many software companies are focused on how to keep users locked into their software. Who remembers Internet Explorer?

On the surface, Spectra One appears to be a fully compatible Gutenberg theme.

It features many powerful yet proprietary blocks replacing all of the core blocks. It also modifies the base Gutenberg editor’s user interface and functionality.

Please let us know the issues you are experiencing with Internet Explorer while using our theme so that we can assist even better.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

My reference to Internet Explorer was to illustrate how building proprietary features into the software can cause users to be reluctant to use it.
