• I was actually looking for a media folder manager, and never found one (at least not one that did what I wanted). Instead, I found quite a few “media taxonomy managers”. I was unsure at first, but tried out a few of them (it took me a short while to figure out how they worked).

No, this plugin doesn’t let you manage media folders, but nevertheless it really helps in managing large numbers of images. I found this plugin to be really well designed and thought out, and it’s the best one of its type I’ve found. It works great!

The only issue I have is that I have no idea what the “Name for Custom MCM Taxonomy” and singular variant settings are for — they doesn’t seem to do anything as far as I can tell. Perhaps I’m missing something, or perhaps this is bug, but in any case it would be a trivial one.

Well done on creating a great plugin!

    Hai,
    Thanks for the compliments.
The “Name for Custom MCM Taxonomy” isn’t a bug but a result of the reason this plugin exists.
I started like you with another plugin which seemed to work fine, however didn’t had the capability of “bulk” management. So I created this plugin.
For ease of use, I defined my own “media_category” taxonomy which was different from the “category_media” as used by the other plugin. In order to support the category definitions already available as defined by the other plugin, I created the option to select another taxonomy from all the ones available. And defined the “Name” fields to make it easier to distinguish them in the Admin pages.
    Hope this helps.
    Best,
    Jan
