I am a web designer with several sites using Divi theme and Woocommerce plugin. August 2020 when I updated both the WordPress version, the theme and the woocommerce plugin I got lots of serious errors on all sites with this combination. When I disabled the woocommerce things went back to normal but I could not continue to use the updated version of the plugin and had to manually load an older version to get the site working again. This happened to multiple sites on multiple hosts. I did some online research and contacted the makers of the Divi theme. It seems that it is something to do with the woocommerce most recent update. Any suggestions?

  • Make sure that none of your themes or plugins are using JQUERY Migrate as this was derpecated in WordPress 5.5.

In general terms, the majority of items with updates made within the last year should be safe, but there may some exceptions to the rule.

There were indeed some issues with the recent update to WordPress 5.5. The cause of many of these issues was the removal of the JS file jquery-migrate.
If your theme and/or plugins still require this file you can install this plugin to fix it:

The long term solution id for the plugin/theme authors to update their products to not need this file.

This conversation has gone idle for a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

i had this problem as well. updating the DIVI theme resolved it.
