Errors when URL is from WP Photon or has more than one period at end of filename

I’ve noted that there are two conditions in which this plugin will fail to load an image from a URL:
Image link includes wp.com, example:
https://i0.wp.com/bitsandpieces.us/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Volume-1-of-16.jpg?w=750The file name has multiple periods before the extension, example:
https://bitsandpieces.us/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Why-you-cant-print-that….jpg
