• Since 21st May I am finding thousands of errors in my log similar to this below:

Unable to open /home/username/public_html/wp-content/wflogs/ips.php for reading and writing.

I also get occasional bunches of errors like this:

WordPress database error Got error 28 from storage engine for query SHOW FULL COLUMNS FROM wp_3wfLockedOut ….(rest of line removed)…

followed by similar error 28 messages for:

    wp_3wfBlocks
    wp_3wfCrawlers
    wp_3wfReverseCache
    wp_3wfHits
    wp_3wfScanners

I am using Wordfence 6.1.8. The site appears to be behaving normally apart from the errors in the log.

I looked at file permissions for /wflogs/ips.php but found I do not have the ability to alter these – is this where the problem lies or should I be looking elsewhere?

  • Hi JohnP,

The first error sounds like permissions, but the database error 28 is typically related to running out of storage space. So the root of the problem may be your disk is getting full. Check into that first and let me know.
