• I keep getting the following error in my admin panel:

FTP credentials don’t allow to write to file /home/mypath/public_html/.htaccess

W3 Total Cache Error: Files and directories could not be automatically created to complete the installation.

    Please execute commands manually
or use FTP form to allow W3 Total Cache make it automatically.

If I change permissions on my .htaccess file to allow writes from User/Group/World, the problem goes away. I would have thought doing this one would allow W3TC to complete what it needed to do since the error went away. When I went back in and changed permissions on .htaccess to disallow writes from anybody, the error pops back up. This has never happened before, so I am assuming it has to do with a change in the latest version? Any ideas how to fix this? I definitely don’t want to leave my .htaccess file writeable.

Went in, changed .htaccess permissions to writeable then disabled the plugin. Re-enabled the plugin and removed write access to .htaccess again. So far, that seems to have cleared up the issue. Strange.
