• Hi there, I am getting tons of errors using the Kavana theme on WordPress.

    1) When I go to edit the page, half of the blocks that I have saved are not there so I can’t edit them. But they do appear on the preview.

    2) When I go to edit some of the blocks, the menu hovers directly over them and impedes access to where I would go to write, which, again, means I can’t edit it.

    3) Some of the blocks are appearing too close to each other and it won’t let me create more space between them.

    Can you please help?

    Are you sure this is not plugin conflicts issue?
    I tried to replicate the site with the system status data you provided and I have issues when these two plugins are activated: Kraken Image Optimizer, and WordPress.com Editing Toolkit.

    Hi there, when I deactivate both of those plugins, the issue doesn’t go away unfortunately.

    Within the site editor, locate the three dots in the top right corner and click on them. From the options provided, select “Export.”
    This action will export your current theme as a zip file. Please upload the file and share the link with us. I will examine the theme file to identify any potential issues.

    Additionally, I recommend trying to change themes and observing if the issue persists. This will help us determine if the problem is specific to the current theme or if it is a more general issue.

    Hi there, I’ve downloaded the zip file and uploaded it to the original link I sent above so do let me know what you find.

    I’ve had a non-Gutenverse theme before Kavana and had no issues. Do you mean that I should try another Gutenverse theme? I’m worried if I change themes then all the page content will be wiped?

    Do you use WordPress.com or manually use WordPress zip installation from www.remarpro.com?

    Thank you for continuing to try and find a solution :). I use WordPress.com and chose the theme from there.

    Do you think it’s worth wiping the whole thing and starting again?

    So it is installed on WordPress.com, I think I understand the issue now.
    The Gutenverse plugin is not fully tested on WordPress.com’s version of the block editor and there might be a conflict issue because of that.

    The plugin is primarily focused on the self-hosted version of WordPress (the WordPress zip file). While this is still an assumption, it could potentially be the root cause of the error you encountered.

    If you decide to start fresh and reset your site, I highly recommend backing up all your data beforehand. This precautionary step will ensure that you have a backup in case you need to recover any information later on.

    Or if you are already familiar with WordPress, self-hosting might be a better choice. There are many hosting providers that include WordPress installation, so you don’t need to set it up manually.

    Hi there, sorry I’m not sure I understand. What’s a WordPress hosting site? The Kavana theme was available on WordPress.com when I went to choose a theme so I assumed it would work?

    If you plan on resetting the site, can you check if the issue still persists if you didn’t install Gutenverse?
    If not, then you should still be able to use the Kavana theme without the Gutenverse plugin.
    So, how our theme works is like this, we provide two types of templates:
    – The default for WordPress, without using Gutenverse.
    – Advanced version where you need to install Gutenverse.

    We primarily focused on releasing our plugin on WordPress.org, not WordPress.com.
    Since www.remarpro.com and WordPress.com might have different versions of Block Editor, some of the functionality of our plugin might not work properly on the WordPress.com version.

    Hi there, I tried the theme on a WordPress hosting site (wealthyaffiliate.com) and again there were errors- in fact the theme shut down the whole site (see screenshot on the same link above). I think there is something wrong with the gutenverse plugin because this was all happening when the plugin was activated and went back to normal when deactivated. I’ve also spoken to a professional web developer who had the same issues.

    It’s a different error, this time it shuts down the whole page. I think there is something wrong with the Gutenverse plugin because it happens when the plugin is switched on.
