Subject: Issue with Backup Restore – Error: WPVIVID_PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10)

    Dear WPvivid Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am experiencing an issue with the WPvivid Backup & Migration plugin on my WordPress site. After updating to the latest version of the plugin, I encountered the following error when trying to restore a backup:

Error: WPVIVID_PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature.

Here is a detailed description of the issue:

    1. Plugin Version: The problem started after updating to the latest version of WPvivid Backup & Migration.
    2. Backup File: I have a backup file that I need to restore, but the restoration process fails with the error mentioned above.
    3. Previous Version: The plugin was working perfectly fine before the update. Unfortunately, I did not create a backup after updating the plugin.
    4. Steps Taken:
      • Verified the integrity of the backup file by downloading it again.
      • Increased the PHP memory limit in the wp-config.php file.
      • Checked and ensured proper file permissions on the server.
      • Attempted to revert to a previous version of the plugin, but the issue persists.

I am unable to restore my backup and urgently need assistance to resolve this issue. Could you please provide guidance on how to fix this error or suggest any steps I might have missed?

Your prompt support would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for your help.

    Best regards,

    Gabriel Oliveira

    Hello,

In general, the error 'PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature' occurred during the restore process.

because the zip file is incomplete or corrupted during the transfer process.

You can follow the steps to migrate your site:

    1. Removing the backup file from backup list of the target site.

    2. Check and free up your source/target server disk space. Generally, in order to backup/restore successfully, make sure that the available disk space is more than twice as large as the size of the website.

    3. Create a new backup for the source site and download it to your desktop.

    4. Upload the backup to the wp-content/wpvividbackups directory of the target site via an FTP client or a cPanel file manager, then click the Scan uploaded backups button on WPvivid to display it on the backup list then restore.

    Kind regards.
