    I am trying to install wordpress to my database. I have checked all of the database details and found that they are correct.

    When I go to my domain.com/wp-admin/install.php I get this message appear in the browser:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘.’ in \\NAS37ENT\domains\l\londonsveryown.com\user\htdocs\wp-includes\user.php on line 492

    Can anybody help me find out how to solve this problem, I am quite new to this so appolagies if I have not provided the correct information.

    Thanks in advance for your help!

  • That’s kind of odd. Is this a clean install? Freshly unzipped files, never edited? Never used?

    Thats my thoughts exactlly.

    @pw310 – please paste what line 492 shows in your user.php file.
    I don’t see the syntax ‘.’ in my files or the one’s in the original downloads of wordpress.

    Yeah it is all freshly unzipped, haven’t done anything to it.

    line 492 looks like this:

    ‘show_option_all’../wordpress/wp-includes/ => ”, ‘show_option_none’../wordpress/wp-includes/ => ”,

    Is there a syntax error in here?

    I have managed to get it working now, I just unzipped all of the files again from fresh and it works!

    Thanks for your help guys!
