• Hello all,

Have noticed a strange occurance with a clients’ site. WordPress displays just code (starting from halfway through the footer!) instead of my 404 page, when an incorrent url is used.

    eg: https://www.seaholmemarquees.co.uk/notapage

    Any ideas, i’m stumpped?

My guess, is that it’s somthing to do with the custom permalink structure. But iv’e no idea what!

  • Does your theme contain a 404.php template file?

It does indeed. but even if it didn’t this would be a strange result!

I’ve seen somthing similar in the past where there has been a conflict btween page names and custom taxonomies

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
