As many others have reported, I’m having a problem updating my rules. I checked the wp-content folder and it’s set to 755, as is the wflog folder.

I will send through the diagnostics to you as you advised the other users.

Maybe a related problem, but an IP address that I blocked permanently today continues to attempt brute-force logins… not sure how that is happening unless it’s related to the rules issue. In other words, is Wordfence not actually enabled due to these errors?

    Thanks!

I also have this problem… a poster appeared last week and I fixed it by updating manually… today again has come out and does not let me update… Apart from today I have appeared on numerous websites, I hope an update soon as the bugs started with the last update 3 weeks ago….

temporary solution : Go to Plugins, empty cache, deactivate wordfence, empty again cache, activate wordfence and from the same plugin page enter the error message in manual update and it will let you update… repeat the process several times if it doesn’t work the first time. But this is a bad fix

For the record: I am also using Dreamhost. Seems like many of us experiencing this problem are also on Dreamhost.

Just a quick update from our side. Dreamhost’s team has identified some other possible blockages that we’re looking into. However, we’ve had reports of the rules now updating on Dreamhost’s servers. Please check your installation of Wordfence to see if you can now update the firewall rules.
