    Hello,

I would like to make a backup before updating my website to the new WordPress, unfortnately I have an error message showing up when I try to use the plugin:
“Unable to open /home/*****/www/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/storage/f8zw6eg5swaz/export.log with mode a”

(I used *** tu hide my FTP username).

So I went through my FTP and checked the error log, that says:
    “May 16 2017 13:50:50
{“Number”:2,”Message”:”fopen(\/home\/******\/www\/wp-content\/uploads\/index.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied”,”File”:”\/home\/******\/www\/wp-content\/plugins\/all-in-one-wp-migration\/functions.php”,”Line”:775}”

Can you tell me what I have to modify or anything else I have to do in order to make the plugin work again,

    Thank you !

    Hi

Usually that error happens when you don’t have enough permissions on [WordPress]/wp-content/ directory. Please set 755 or 777 recursively (you can do it via FTP client) and try again to export.

    Hi again,

I do not have such file on my FTP: /wp-content/directory
I don’t find the “directory” folder. Did I understand what you were saying correctly ?

Ok now I cannot update anything on my WordPress, plugins, theme, I can’t update anything, it is asking me for my FTP logins (and it never did before) and even if I fill them in correctly it doesn’t work.

What am I supposed to do ?

    Hi

    Sorry for the confusion!

    The directory is [WordPress]/wp-content/

If you can’t change permissions via FTP/SFP you can contact your hosting provider and ask them to set correct permissions on [WordPress]/wp-content/

Usually when WordPress is asking you to enter your FTP credentials that means that user permissions of the WordPress directory are different than user permissions of the current web server.

    Hi

Please let me know if that helped. Thanks!

what worked for me was to change the permissions of /wp-content/plugins/aiowps_backups
    to 775.
I also had to change the permissions of the /wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/storage/error.php to 775 beforehand…
    good luck!
    nils
