Hello, if a Post is uploading our WordPress wants to send 60 E-Mails. A few days ago it works fine, but now a few mails were not delivered. Here is the error message:

4.7.0 smtp2.mailbox.org Error: too many connections

Do you have an idea how we can solve the Issue?

  • Hi @bkiehle,

When you get the chance, could you let us know which mailer you are using in WP Mail SMTP, and if you are able to send the test emails in the plugin?

    Thanks!

    Hi @ethanchoi,

we are using mailbox.org, the test mail works. They told us we can just send 30 Mails per minute. Is there any possibility to send them slowly or in two groups?

    Greetings

    Hi @bkiehle,

I apologize as the SMTP plugin does not have an option to adjust the rate at which emails are sent.

In case it helps, for sending large amount of emails you may consider using SendGrid or Mailgun and the available usage plans on their sites.

    Thanks!

Okay, thanks. I don’t want to use SendGrid. I want to keep my email at the actually supplier. It were very helpful if I could send mails slower.

    Hi @bkiehle,

In this case you could also consider reaching out to your email service provider to explore the possible options they can offer, such as to increase the email sending limit.

    Hi @ethanchoi
They don’t want this. But now we have another solution.

    Thanks!
