Error while saving options – XML Sitemap Generator

    Hi, I’m using “XML Sitemap Generator for WordPress 3.2.3” and get this error when I click on the Update Options button:

    Error while saving options
    Pages saved

    Also, I always get the message saying:

    The sitemap wasn’t built yet. Click here to build it the first time.
    If you encounter any problems with the build process you can use the debug function to get more information.

    I noticed that the files (sitemap.xml and sitemap.xml.gz) are actually created but the Search Engines are not notified.

    I have this plugin working in other sites and have no problem with it. I’ve checked the permissions on the sitemap.xml files and have 755 set. What could be happening?

  • Exactly the same it’s happening to me.

    Same issues here as well. I can generate the XML file on another site and ftp it in and then submit it to google myself with no issues. I’ve also noticed that none of my Google Analytics plugins will verify with google either lately. I have to past the code in manually. I wonder if google is changing things around and causing issues?

    I think part of the problem is the PHP version the server is running for me. My host is on an older version of PHP that barely meets minimum requirements. A lot of newer plugins require PHP 5.1 to work. Check your hosts and see what version they are on. I’m waiting on my host to upgrade to see how things will go.
