Hello,

I am trying to export the settings on a multisite installation, from the main site to the sub-site.

When importing, I get the following error: Settings could not be imported: Unzipping failed with error “Incompatible Archive.”.

I also tried opening the file on my computer and it doesn’t open, it just creates a .cpgz archive. It seems that the archive is corrupted.

My goal is to copy all the meta descriptions to the sub site.

How can I fix that?

- What options are you using to import and export?

Hello,

Thank you very much for your reply.

I go to Yoast SEO > Tools > Import and Export > Export Settings (I check “Include metas and taxonomy”)

Then import with the import tool (Import settings) on the other website.

@swissprice You’ll need to import the exported file from the Yoast SEO → Tools → Import & Export → Import (tab), not from the WordPress import feature.

On the other hand, the Yoast SEO Import and Export feature won’t include the posts/pages level meta description, it will only include the Yoast SEO settings.

We have a feature request currently open in our GitHub repository that you can find here to export all SEO data.

Hi Samuel,

Yes, you can. You will need to here: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/7728 and add a comment. Something like “I second this”. You will then be notified when there are updates to the issue. If you do not have a GitHub Account you may need to make one.
