• I have an SSL RapidSSL cert installed. I am comfortable with making the site use HTTPS:// exclusively and patch any external holes (basically, the following problem isn’t unsecured link issues).

In all browsers, I am able to submit a form through Contact Form 7 successfully, both https:// and https://

In SAFARI however, https:// doesn’t submit, well.. it submits after a maybe 2-4 clicks. Each click generates this error in the console:
Failed to load resource: The network connection was lost.

This happens even if my theme is set to a default WP theme, or if it’s just a blank document theme with Contact Form 7 installed. I’ve tried disabling all JS and plugins, still no luck.

I’m assuming it’s either a CF7 bug that literally nobody has ever spoken about, or it’s a problem with my SSL certificate? (I don’t know enough about that to know if that’s misguided).

I’m grateful for any help, thanks.

  • Bumping this one, as this is the case for me as well.

The issue is that Contact Form 7 loads ajax.gif (the animated spinner) over HTTP, and not HTTPS even when site uses SSL.
